The process of fostering these relationships mirrors that which takes place out the outset of partnership itself: Time needs to be set aside to develop trust, refine and articulate common goals, clarify assumptions, and negotiate different professional cultures.

Sharing and presenting information about the partnership’s work can highlight the value of the partnership, while engaging community stakeholders and integrating local perspectives into the partnership’s research can help ensure the relevance and impact of the work and strengthen the case for funding.
