Overview
Partnerships build agency capacity to connect research evidence to the decisions they make every day. The value of this work can be compelling to funders interested in research-informed approaches to improving youth outcomes.
Developing relationships with funders can help an RPP thrive. The process of fostering these relationships mirrors that which takes place out the outset of partnership itself: Time needs to be set aside to develop trust, refine and articulate common goals, clarify assumptions, and negotiate different professional cultures.
Seeking and obtaining funding for partnership work is closely related to the tasks of communicating with and engaging target audiences and stakeholders. Sharing and presenting information about the partnership’s work can highlight the value of the partnership, while engaging community stakeholders and integrating local perspectives into the partnership’s research can help ensure the relevance and impact of the work and strengthen the case for funding.
